The origin of Mother's Day-syble barcode scanner

The tradition of Mother's Day originated in ancient Greece. On January 8th, the ancient Greeks told Rhea, the mother of the Greek gods, whose English names are Rhea and Cybele. She is Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, Hera, and Hestia. Ya's mother, so she is called the mother of the gods. By the time of ancient Rome, the scale of these events became larger, and the celebrations often lasted for three days. Of course, people’s worship of goddesses in ancient times was just a kind of superstition, which is very different from people’s respect for motherhood today.

In the modern sense, Mother's Day originated in the United States and was initiated by Anna Jarvis. She was unmarried for life and was always with her mother. Mother's Day is advocated by a woman named Jarvis and initiated by her daughter Anna Jarvis.

Mrs. Jarvis was a mother with 10 children and was the director of the Grafton Church Sunday School in the United States. After the American Civil War, which aimed to liberate slaves, she was in charge of telling the course of the American National Memorial Day in school. Jarvis is a kind-hearted and compassionate woman. She told the story of the heroes who died for justice in the war. Looking at the faces of the children under the stage, an idea suddenly came to her heart: to contribute so many heroic soldiers to the motherland, promise wasn't it the mothers who worked hard to nurture their children? Isn't it also these obscure mothers who have suffered the greatest pain and sacrifice for their sons? Therefore, she proposed to set up an anniversary or Mother's Day to give these ordinary women some comfort and express their children's filial piety to their mothers. Unfortunately, this good wish has not been realized, and Mrs. Jarvis has passed away forever.

Her daughter Anna Jarvis witnessed the hard work of her mother raising herself and her siblings as adults, and she deeply felt that her mother's proposal fits the principles of the world. Therefore, she wrote dozens of letters and sent them to the U.S. Congress. Local governors and women’s organizations have proposed the creation of Mother’s Day. Under her repeated appeals, this proposal has received widespread response and support from the community

In 1914, US President Wilson solemnly announced that the second Sunday in May of each year would be Mother’s Day, which was also the anniversary of Mrs. Jarvis’s death. Since Mrs. Jarvis liked carnations most during her lifetime, carnations became a symbol of Mother's Day.

Mother's Day is a holiday for us to be grateful to our mothers. There is no need for too expensive gifts, no need for too grand ceremonies, just a sentence of "Mom, I love you".
